Samsill is currently seeking an experienced and ambitious Product Marketing Manager with strong leadership and solid experience in building a brand story and creating highly demanded products from ideation to launch.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Direct and enable the strategic and collaborative efforts between the marketing team, sales, production, purchasing, and finance

  • Lead development of marketing strategy and product development: value proposition, messaging, segmentation, channel mix, market analysis, pricing, competitive intelligence, creative asset development etc.

  • Oversee the execution of brand through our website, advertising, content, collateral, and marketing messaging

  • Work directly with domestic and international suppliers on product and packaging development efforts

  • Keep up with the latest updates/content in the school, office, or home organizational markets

  • Lead and grow team of Marketing Associates and Graphic Designers

  • The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, start-up environment and has a proven track record of driving results and managing a department

  • Knowledge of Amazon FBA and 1P a bonus as well as Amazon advertising

  • Travel to industry tradeshow and international suppliers as needed


Job Requirements:

  • Experience building marketing plans and marketing teams for new and existing product growth

  • Experience developing and executing a digital-heavy marketing strategy with a high degree of comfort overseeing different digital channels (e.g., paid search/social) and website optimization efforts

  • Fluency in basic branding concepts and frameworks, with the ability to confidently participate in the development/refinement of our brand, and a track record of executing consistently against well-defined brand parameters

  • High degree of comfort working in a scrappy, fast-paced environment

  • High degree of comfort working in a team with other executives

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to comfortably handle difficult conversations

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing

  • Solid knowledge of product marketing, product development, assortment planning

  • 5-7 years’ experience in product marketing, consumer goods and online marketplaces (i.e. Amazon)

  • 2+ year managing a team and holding a leadership role

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

What Your Work Will Look Like: 

  • Roles are always evolving; however, we want you to know exactly what you are walking into. Here is a preview of what is expected:

  • Research new product ideas, and develop those ideas through our manufacturing capabilities or knowledge of sourcing products overseas

  • Develop pricing for new products for various marketing channels

  • Continually look at strategies to sell inventory, which also includes looking at raw materials and figuring out how to make them into sellable products

  • Work closely with the content manager on product launches and strategy to make sure each new product is winning

  • Works closely with our 1P and 3P Amazon sellers on product development and strategies on additional products and placements on Amazon’s website

  • Work closely with sales on products for OEM or custom products for customers

  • Quality check postproduction product when the product arrives from sourcing agents or developed in our manufacturing facility

  • Serve as the lead communication point between production and marketing/sales

  • Work collaboratively with sales and marketing to ensure that there is a harmonious synergy between product features and market positioning reflected in final deliverables

  • Develop a deep understanding of the market and the demand characteristics of the market

  • Works closely with purchasing on ordering new products, keeping new SKUs in stock, and sourcing new raw materials

  • Creating specs, including putting spec information into the system and routing to the company

  • Show ability to communicate and identify areas of improvement and provide appropriate solutions

  • Able to work as part of a team, presenting, sharing, and incorporating fresh ideas

  • Able to design mockups and come up with ideas independently

  • Develop marketing campaigns and collaborate with the department to make sure we’re thinking ahead

  • Overseas art department and responsibilities for print design and custom orders as well as creating new processes and company standards
