The Purchasing Administrator position will have responsibility for raw material replenishment and management. This role will ensure material availability (using optimum inventory based on Cost, MOQ, lead time, and requirements analysis) to enable on-time delivery to the customer. The Purchasing Clerk will work to reduce and eliminate stockouts and will expedite materials as required. This position will work closely with customer service and production personnel to ensure appropriate communication has been provided to appropriate personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist the Buying team to carry out purchasing strategies and provide general office and administrative support to the Buying and Shipping departments. The position will have responsibility for raw material replenishment. This role will ensure material availability (using optimum inventory based on Cost, MOQ, lead time, and requirements analysis) to enable on time delivery to the customer. The Purchasing Administrator will work closely with the department to reduce and eliminate stockouts and will expedite materials as required. This position will work closely with customer service and production personnel to ensure appropriate communication has been provided to the appropriate personnel

Key Tasks & Responsibility

- Carrying out the order process from raising orders for sign off to processing import documentation

- Analyzing and maintaining stock levels

- Maintaining and updating company databases and systems with product data

- Producing sales and purchase reports

- Assisting the Buying and Shipping teams with general administrative tasks

- Communicating with domestic and international vendors

- Manage domestic vendor relationships via entering purchase orders to the Vendors and acquiring confirmation and track vendor performance against expected lead times and quality

- Continuous improvement -- participate in continuous improvement activities that drive the KPI's (E, Q, D, C, I)
- Participate in inventory control actions

- Work Directly with Customer Service on obtaining quotations for special purchase items

- Communicate to all required personnel the status of inventory and possible recovery dates when required

- Source new vendors when required and hold vendors to expectations

- Any other tasks deemed by the company to be necessary for the successful completion of the role

 

Qualified Applicants will have:

  • College degree preferred but not required

  • 2+ years of experience preferred

  • Mathematics and Data Analytic Competency

  • Teamwork Required

  • Experience with purchasing and planning best practices

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel as a tool for data analysis

  • Ability to problem-solve and the ability to multi-task are required

  • Think outside of the box when needed to provide solutions to complex problems

Job Type: Part-Time

$14.00 to $17.00 per hour - Non-exempt
