DIY No-Sew Fabric Binder

Fabric covered binders are becoming super popular but can be pretty pricey. But you can make your own for a fraction of the cost and you can choose whatever fabric you like. It also doesn’t take a lot of time to customize your binder for your home or back to school.

  • Binder (Sam’s Club is having a great deal on 1″ binders just in time for back to school)
  • Fabric
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Glue
  • Glue gun
  • scissors

Lay out your binder on the fabric so you can cut it down a little bit to make gluing more manageable.

Make sure that your fabric is wrinkle-free so iron it if needed. I cut the fabric down to about 1/2 an inch around the binder.

Now you can start gluing. For the outside, I used spray adhesive. You could use a glue gun but the spray gets the job done faster.

Smooth out the fabric on the front.

Now, time for the inside. Here you can get creative depending on what you want. If you don’t want to use the pockets then don’t worry about cutting the fabric on the inside. You could actually leave more of the fabric if you wanted to cover the whole inside or you could get coordinating scrapbook paper and glue it to the inside for a more finished look.

If you want to use the pockets then cut close to the edge. It is probably a good idea to use the glue gun for this part. The spray adhesive isn’t great for small areas.

And you’re done!
