Playing hooky is nothing new to anyone in the workforce. In fact, thirty-eight percent of employees called into work “sick” last year, according to a survey by CareerBuilder. Calling in sick is by far the most used excuse. Other excuses you can use are: household emergencies, (pipe bursting, gas leak, broken heat or AC) feminine problems, or you have a sick person at home. Don’t go overboard. Keep your problem simple and can be resolved within a day. Also, be sure not to get caught while using your “sick day”. Thirty-three percent of employees were caught playing hooky by using their social media accounts. Now it is time to put your acting skills to the test. How creative can you get? These are the top 10 most absurd excuses, according to CareerBuilder’s Annual Study.
